About the Recipe
I first had this quick side dish from Whole Foods "Meals to Go" and I fell in love! Grilling the asparagus in a grill pan just gives it the best flavor!
1 bunch of asparagus, trimmed
Avocado or olive oil
Trim asparagus as needed.
Drizzle with oil. Add salt and pepper and toss, using your hands to ensure stalks are adequately and evenly coated.
Using a cast iron grill pan (I love my Le Creuset), preheat on medium high heat.
Once pan is headed, add asparagus perpendicular to grill ridges. Cover. After about five minutes, turn the stalks to grill the other side. Replace cover. Check at 15 minutes and cook to desired tenderness. Turn the stalks again in the last few minutes if needed to keep any spots from getting too charred.
